Client: TCI Sanmar, Egypt
The largest Indian investor in Egypt’s chemical industry, TCI Sanmar is also the country’s biggest producer of caustic soda and PVC.
Launching a massive project to create world-class manufacturing facilities for caustic soda and PVC in Port Said, Egypt, TCI Sanmar invested US$ 1.20 billion in the first of two phases. Broadbent successfully supplied four horizontal continuous solid bowl decanter centrifuges for this initial project phase, comprising two 800mm x 1250mm (5 t/h) machines and two 1000mm x 1500mm machines capable of 12 t/h. Phase 1 completed in April 2012 and PVC production was soon underway.
Phase 2 is now progressing well with an additional injection of US$ 300 million, taking the total investment to US$ 1.5 billion. Phase 2 expansion is expected to complete by April 2018. At this point, PVC capacity will double to 400,000 tonnes. Broadbent continues to play its part in the project and has been awarded the contract to supply two 1000 x 1500 solid bowl decanter centrifuges, each of which can process an impressive 18t/h of PVC resin.
